Oh, Miley... I wish I could get inside of that head of yours right now... because I don't understand your recent choices. It must be hard to have every move followed and scrutinized, but I hope that you remember that you have fans, such as my seven year old daughter, that look up to you.I know sexy worked for Britney. And many other stars before you. And I know that if Britney had covered herself up completely, and remained as sweet and virginal looking as she did on her first album cover, her career might have vanished into obscurity. A covered up body doesn't seem to sell as many records, does it?
Exhibit A: Britney with her snake at the VMAs... covered up... record sales tank (although, it could just have to do with the fact that she has three arms?)
Record sales or not, there have been claims and statements made that allowed me to feel safe allowing my daughter to hang photos of you on her wall.Your recent photos, however, made me want to do this:
I want to cover you up. I want to keep the images my daughter sees and admires free of skin and sultry looks. I know you are now 15, but 15 is still a young girl. Stop trying to grow up too quickly.
I hope you allow yourself to remain a young girl for just a bit longer. I'd like that for my own daughter as well.

i heard about these photos on fox news and that miley apologized for taking them and feels very embarrassed. apparently, however, her DAD was there when these were shot or something crazy like that. crazy for 2 reasons...#1 no dad should ever see their daughter this naked at this age...and #2 no dad with a daughter this age should EVER allow her to be this naked! just don't understand it...

That picture of Britney isn't innocent at all - it was designed to lead the viewer's eyes straight to her crotch. She's always been completely sexualized, which is really gross.
Ah, Miley. The wrapped-in-a-blanket picture was offensive - that's a 15 YEAR OLD, PEOPLE - but the REALLY awful one was the picture where she was in a belly shirt, spooning with her dad and making sultry eyes at the camera. Seriously. So her father is completely to blame and completely part and parcel of all this - he's pimping his kid out.

Oh, it makes me so sad. I just hate that every couple of months our kids latch on to the next "normal" girl, then get dashed when she does something stupid.

I'm not upset with Miley. I am VERY upset with her parents. Miley is still a kid. She is being exploited. I am still waiting for Billy Ray to apologize publicly- not to us- to his daughter.
It's a career move. She's trying to shed the girl image because soon she will be too old to be a girl.
Unfortunately, this not about her fans and how sorry she was. This is about her and her career.
Our society has so disgustingly sexualized everything - young girls have a much harder time remaining innocent. I have only seen the one photo (blanket) and it doesn't particular offend me but it definitely isn't appropriate for a 15 year old GIRL. 17? Maybe. But 15 is still a young girl. Not a woman. Innocence is still important. *sigh*

Just wanted to say that I really like the sweaters on the photos. I think it's ridiculous to talk about how inappropriate the photos are and then reproduce them so that they are promoted one more time (as I've seen on a couple other websites). If the photos are inappropriate anywhere, they're inappropriate everywhere. Loved your creative take on how to reference them and discuss them!
